1. What Is BabyLift®?

BabyLift® is a minimally invasive outpatient minor surgical procedure designed to achieve facial rejuvenation through strategic tissue repositioning with minimal surgical trauma.

It is performed under local anesthesia in an operating room, using a standardized technique that has been academically validated. This technique was developed by Dr. Eduardo Villalobos Villar, published in an indexed medical journal, and validated at a European congress of head and neck surgery.

2. What Does the Procedure Involve?

• Performed in an operating room under sterile conditions.

• Uses specialized instrumentation designed specifically for the technique.

• Targets strategic superficial facial planes.

• Does not involve extensive tissue dissection or large scars.

• Requires less surgical time compared to traditional facelift procedures.

• Allows for a faster recovery period.

It is classified as a minor surgical procedure applied to facial aesthetics.

3. What BabyLift® Is NOT

• It is not a conventional facial facelift.

• It is not performed under general anesthesia.

• It does not require hospitalization.

• It does not replace major surgical procedures in cases of severe or advanced aging.

4. General Indications

BabyLift® is indicated for patients with:

• Mild to moderate facial skin laxity.

• Loss of mandibular definition.

• Early descent of facial tissues.

• Early structural changes associated with aging.

Each patient requires a prior individualized medical evaluation.

5. Recovery and Rest

It is important to understand that:

• Relative rest is required for approximately 7 days.

• Mild to moderate swelling may occur.

• Temporary bruising (ecchymosis) may be present.

• Intense physical activity should be avoided for 10–14 days.

• Travel is not recommended during the first 5–7 days.

Most patients progressively resume social activities after the first week.

6. Procedure Investment

• Medical fees: $3,000 USD

• Operating room and surgical logistics: $500 USD

Total investment: $3,500 USD

7. Reservation Process and Date Priority

Because the procedure is performed directly by the creator of the technique, surgical slots are limited.

To schedule an in-person BabyLift® consultation in San José, a refundable reservation payment of $1,000 USD is required.

This payment includes:

• $100 USD corresponding to the in-person medical consultation fee.

• $900 USD refundable, which will be returned after the consultation provided the patient attends the scheduled appointment.

The purpose of the reservation payment is to:

• Confirm the seriousness of the patient’s interest.

• Secure a limited medical agenda slot.

• Cover administrative and organizational costs.

Failure to attend the appointment (no-show) will result in the non-refundable loss of the consultation fee.

The completion of the consultation does not guarantee approval for the procedure, as this depends exclusively on the in-person medical evaluation.

• If the patient is deemed a candidate, they must attend an in-person consultation for further evaluation.

• If, after the in-person consultation and detailed explanation of the technique, the patient decides not to proceed, a retention of $400 USD will apply, corresponding to virtual and in-person consultation costs.

• If the patient confirms surgery, the reservation payment is 100% applicable toward the total procedure cost.

• The reservation allows for priority surgical date blocking.

The remaining balance must be paid 48 hours prior to the procedure.

8. Administrative Reservation Policy

• If the patient voluntarily withdraws prior to the 48-hour confirmation period before surgery, an administrative retention of $400 USD will apply.

• If surgery is confirmed and later canceled by the patient outside the permitted timeframe, the reservation payment will be non-refundable.

• In the event of a no-show on the day of surgery, the reservation payment will be non-refundable.

• If, based on medical criteria, it is determined on the day of surgery that it is not safe to proceed due to the patient’s clinical condition, the procedure may be rescheduled, with a $600 USD penalty applied for operating room cancellation. This amount will be credited toward the new reservation for the rescheduled date.

Surgical dates are assigned strictly in order of confirmed reservation payment.

9. Final Considerations

BabyLift® is a minor surgical procedure that combines technical precision, anatomical planning, and minimal invasiveness to achieve harmonious facial rejuvenation. It is not a superficial treatment nor an injectable procedure.

It requires proper medical planning, strict adherence to postoperative instructions, and the patient’s full commitment to the recovery process.
